Vinod Khosla Set to Become Controlling Owner of Seahawks
Vinod Khosla is poised to become the controlling owner of the Seattle Seahawks once the sale is finalized. In addition to this ownership, he will temporarily hold a minority stake in the San Francisco 49ers.
Khosla and his family currently own 3.1 percent of the 49ers, and while a sale of this stake is necessary, it is not a prerequisite for him to acquire the Seahawks. Finding a buyer for the minority stake may take time, as the 49ers have the final say on the acquisition.
Upon completion of the sale, Khosla will own at least 30 percent of the Seahawks and maintain a stake in one of their major rivals, the 49ers. Notably, he does not own any part of the Pittsburgh Steelers, despite being a fan and regularly watching their games.
