Virginia RB Solomon Beebe Arrested on Animal Cruelty Charges
Solomon Beebe, a running back for the University of Virginia, was arrested on Monday and is facing three charges of animal cruelty, as reported by court documents.
Beebe, who transferred from UAB, appeared in Albemarle County District Court on Thursday. The charges stem from three separate incidents, including an alleged assault on his pet pitbull witnessed by a housekeeper on August 12. The animal protection unit also investigated another incident that occurred on August 10, leading to the seizure of Beebe's dog on August 13. Following his arrest, he was released on unsecured bail.
The University of Virginia has stated that it does not comment on ongoing criminal proceedings. Beebe, who joined Virginia after entering the transfer portal in December, has been participating in the team's running back rotation and is expected to play a role in the upcoming season opener against NC State on August 29, although his availability remains uncertain.
