Vita Vea Signs One-Year Extension with Buccaneers
Defensive tackle Vita Vea has resolved his contract situation with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by agreeing to a one-year extension on Wednesday, which secures his position with the team until 2027 and includes $30 million in new money.
This agreement follows Vea's trade request prior to training camp, although he clarified that he never intended to leave Tampa. He expressed his commitment to the Buccaneers, stating that he always wanted to remain with the team.
Vea has been unable to practice this summer due to a back injury sustained during a conditioning test. He is expected to miss this week's game and the preseason finale, but the new contract is anticipated to facilitate his preparation for the regular season opener.
