Vita Vea Signs One-Year Extension with Buccaneers
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have finalized a one-year contract extension with defensive tackle Vita Vea, as reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
This new agreement is valued at $30 million, adding to his existing contract, which was set to pay him $18 million in 2026, resulting in a total of $48 million over the next two years.
Vea will receive an additional $6 million this year, raising his total compensation for 2026 to $24 million. The report does not confirm whether the deal is fully guaranteed, suggesting it may simply be a raise without a long-term commitment from the team. Vea had previously missed practice while negotiating for a new deal and had expressed a desire to be traded before the Buccaneers improved his contract to retain him.
