Volkanovski Confident in Takedown Defense Ahead of UFC 333

Alexander Volkanovski asserts that Movsar Evloev will struggle against his takedown defense at UFC 333, where he will defend his featherweight title.

Alexander Volkanovski is set to defend his featherweight title against Movsar Evloev at UFC 333 on Saturday at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. Volkanovski believes that Evloev will not be able to counter his takedown defense during the fight.

Evloev, who holds an undefeated record of 20-0, most recently won a majority decision against Lerone Murphy. The matchup is evenly matched according to betting lines, with both fighters at minus-110 odds. Volkanovski, who is coming off two unanimous decision victories, expressed confidence in controlling the fight's pace and location.

While Evloev has not finished an opponent since 2018, he has relied on decision victories in the UFC. Analysts suggest he may revert to wrestling strategies now that he has a title shot. UFC 333 will also feature a bantamweight title fight between Petr Yan and Merab Dvalishvili.
