Volkanovski Supports Sterling's Title Shot Potential
Alexander Volkanovski has expressed that Aljamain Sterling could advance in the featherweight title rankings with a win against Kevin Vallejos at UFC Qatar on November 21.
Volkanovski stated that if Sterling secures a victory, he would have a stronger claim for the next title shot compared to Jean Silva. Sterling, who recently moved up from bantamweight after losing his title, has a record of 3-1 in the featherweight division, including notable wins over Calvin Kattar, Brian Ortega, and Youssef Zalal.
Silva, who has a UFC record of 7-1 with six finishes, is also in contention but may need to wait for the outcome of the Sterling-Vallejos fight. Volkanovski, who retained his title against Movsar Evloev at UFC 333, indicated that if Sterling loses, the path would be clearer for Silva.
