Voting Insights for the 2026 Fielding Bible Awards: Infield
The Fielding Bible Awards, recognizing top defensive players in Major League Baseball, will announce winners on October 22. This year marks the third consecutive year of voting for the awards, which are akin to the Gold Glove but cover all major leagues.
The voting panel, comprised of baseball experts and video scouts, evaluates players across various positions, including awards for multi-position defenders and the defensive player of the year. The author updated their voting methodology this year, incorporating a blend of defensive metrics and personal judgment to rank players.
In the infield category, notable selections include Dillon Dingler for catcher, Matt Olson for first base, Brice Turang for second base, Masyn Winn for shortstop, and Matt Chapman for third base. Each player was chosen based on a combination of statistical performance and defensive skills observed throughout the season.
