Vowles Praises Sainz's Technical Feedback Over Hamilton's
James Vowles, who has extensive experience with Mercedes, has rated Carlos Sainz's technical feedback as superior to that of Lewis Hamilton. Vowles noted that Sainz excels in linking his sensations in the cockpit with engineering data, a skill he believes sets him apart from other drivers.
During an event at Monza, Vowles stated that while Hamilton is adept at articulating his feelings from the car, Sainz goes further by correlating those sensations with specific engineering metrics. Vowles emphasized that he hired Sainz for his potential to transform the team.
Sainz, who is set to continue with Williams through 2027, utilized part of the Friday practice session at Monza to test concepts aimed at improving next year's car. Although these tests affected immediate performance, Sainz believes they will contribute to the team's long-term progress.
