Warriors Guard Brandin Podziemski Signs Five-Year Extension
Brandin Podziemski, a guard for the Golden State Warriors, has finalized a five-year contract extension worth $110 million. This agreement, which is fully guaranteed, includes a mutual option for the fifth year of the deal, set for the 2031/32 season, along with a trade kicker.
Under the terms of the extension, Podziemski's starting salary will be slightly above his projected cap hold for the upcoming offseason. He is set to earn $18.9 million in the next season, with annual raises capped at eight percent. His salary will increase to $20.5 million in 2028/29, $22 million in 2029/30, $23.5 million in 2030/31, and $25 million in the option year.
This extension allows the Warriors to avoid potential distractions before the October 19 deadline, as Podziemski would have otherwise entered restricted free agency next summer. He has demonstrated his value to the team, leading in minutes played last season and averaging 13.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.7 assists across all 82 games.
