Warriors Sign Georges Niang to One-Year Contract

The Golden State Warriors have finalized a one-year contract with free agent forward Georges Niang, valued at $3.9 million. This move fills the last available spot on their 15-man roster.

Niang, who has a career shooting percentage of 39.9% from three-point range over nine NBA seasons, is expected to add depth at the power forward position. The Warriors sought additional size after losing Quinten Post to Memphis in free agency.

Last season, Niang did not play due to a foot injury sustained before training camp. Although he has never played for the Warriors, he had a brief period with their G League affiliate in the 2017/18 season. Throughout his career, he has primarily served as a backup, starting only 32 of 544 games. In the 2024/25 season, he averaged a career-high 9.9 points per game while playing for Cleveland and Atlanta.
