Warriors Update on Injuries: Moody and Butler's Recovery Timelines
Moses Moody and Jimmy Butler will not be available for the start of the season due to injuries, but the Golden State Warriors are optimistic about their recovery timelines. Moody is recovering from a ruptured left patellar tendon, while Butler is dealing with a right ACL tear.
Moody is reportedly ahead in his rehabilitation and could return as early as December or January, whereas Butler is expected to be back in January or February. The Warriors' front office had considered trading Butler at the 2026 deadline but has not pursued any trades since his injury.
Last season, the Warriors struggled after Butler's injury, finishing with a 12-26 record following his ACL tear. Head coach Steve Kerr aims to establish a strong foundation for the team this season, hoping to integrate Butler back into the lineup as they approach the playoffs.
