Washington Commanders Hire John Riggins and Darrell Green

The Washington Commanders have announced new roles for two of their legendary players, John Riggins and Darrell Green, as part of their efforts to strengthen ties with former stars.

At a training camp event, Commanders President Mark Clouse revealed that Riggins will join the preseason broadcast team and participate in special events. Additionally, the team will retire his No. 44 jersey this season. Green will focus on community outreach, aiming to engage fans and civic leaders regarding the proposed new domed stadium at the former RFK Stadium site, with plans for the team to relocate there by the 2030 season.
