Washington Commanders Place Terry McLaurin on Injured Reserve
The Washington Commanders have officially placed wide receiver Terry McLaurin on injured reserve following a significant knee injury. McLaurin suffered a torn patellar tendon during the team's Week 6 loss to the San Francisco 49ers and will miss the remainder of the season.
In addition to McLaurin's placement on injured reserve, the Commanders signed wide receiver Van Jefferson from the practice squad to the active roster and added outside linebacker Kyle Kennard to the practice squad. McLaurin, who has played four games this season, recorded 14 receptions for 203 yards and one touchdown.
McLaurin, drafted in 2019, signed a three-year, $97 million contract extension last August, entering the final year of his previous deal. His injury will require surgery and a lengthy recovery period.
