Washington Commanders Release Defensive Tackle Jeffrey M’ba

The Washington Commanders announced the release of defensive tackle Jeffrey M’ba from their practice squad on Wednesday, concluding the rookie's brief tenure in Ashburn.

This move was made to accommodate the signing of wide receiver Nick DeGennaro, who previously went undrafted and was cut by the New England Patriots. DeGennaro will join a practice squad that includes veteran Van Jefferson and rookie Jaden Bradley.

M’ba, who was born in Gabon and raised in France and Cameroon, had a varied college football career before signing with the Commanders. He participated in all three preseason games, recording eight tackles and one pass deflection, but did not make the initial 53-man roster. His release allows him to pursue opportunities elsewhere, including a potential return to the CFL, where he was previously selected by the Edmonton Elks.
