Washington Commanders Release LB Drake Jackson and DB Malik Spencer from Injured Reserve
The Washington Commanders have announced the release of linebacker Drake Jackson and defensive back Malik Spencer from injured reserve, both with injury settlements, according to the NFL’s Official Transaction Wire.
Drake Jackson, 25, was originally a second-round draft pick by the San Francisco 49ers in 2022. He had a notable college career as a three-year starter at USC and earned second-team All-PAC 12 honors during his junior year. Jackson was in the final year of his four-year contract when he was waived in May, having joined the Commanders' active roster in October 2025 after signing a one-year extension this offseason.
In his brief time with the 49ers, Jackson participated in three games during the 2025 season, recording three tackles.
