Washington Commanders Release Rookie Running Back Kaytron Allen After Four Games
The Washington Commanders have waived rookie running back Kaytron Allen, who was a sixth-round pick from Penn State, after only four games this season.
During his brief time with the team, Allen carried the ball 12 times for a total of 41 yards, averaging 3.4 yards per carry. Despite fans hoping he would serve as a power back, the Commanders decided to part ways with him, indicating a preference for other players in their crowded running back room.
This decision coincides with the return of Jeremy McNichols to practice, suggesting that the coaching staff views him as a more valuable asset. The Commanders' backfield already included players like Ja’Cory Croskeyy-Merritt, Rachaad White, and Austin Ekeler, making it difficult for Allen to secure a spot on the roster.
