Washington Commanders Sign Stefon Diggs to One-Year Deal
The Washington Commanders have reached an agreement with wide receiver Stefon Diggs on a one-year contract valued at $12 million. This decision comes as the team seeks to strengthen its receiving options following a challenging previous season.
Diggs, who is 32 years old, had a productive 2025 season with the New England Patriots, recording 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. His addition is expected to provide support alongside Terry McLaurin, addressing a long-standing need for a reliable second receiver.
Despite facing legal challenges earlier this year, including allegations of assault which he denied and was acquitted of, Diggs remains a prominent player in the league. He has consistently demonstrated his ability to perform at a high level, having surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in seven of his eleven NFL seasons.
