Watford Signs Michail Antonio on Free Transfer
Watford has announced the signing of Michail Antonio, a former striker for West Ham, on a free transfer. The 36-year-old has joined the club on a one-year contract after spending a month training with the team.
Antonio is currently awaiting international clearance to make his debut against Stoke City. He expressed enthusiasm about joining Watford, referring to it as a big club and hoping to contribute to its success. His last match for West Ham was in December 2024, after which he suffered a broken leg in a car accident.
Antonio was released by West Ham in June 2025 after a decade with the club, where he became their all-time top scorer in the Premier League. He briefly played for Qatari side Al-Sailiya earlier this year before returning to England.
