West Bromwich Albion Defeats Norwich City 2-1 in Championship Opener
West Bromwich Albion began their Championship season with a 2-1 victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road on Saturday. Aune Heggebo's controversial goal helped the Baggies secure the win despite being under pressure for much of the match.
Norwich started strong, with Kenny McLean coming close to scoring early on. However, West Brom's defense held firm, and the first half ended without any goals. The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when Heggebo scored after a low cross from Jimmy-Jay Morgan, although the goal appeared to have touched Heggebo's hand.
West Brom extended their lead in the 87th minute with a goal from Morgan. Norwich managed to score a consolation goal in added time through Mathias Kvistgaarden, but it was not enough to change the outcome of the match.
