West Coast Eagles Discuss Potential Move for Jack Viney
West Coast Eagles list manager Matt Clarke has shared an update regarding negotiations with Melbourne midfielder Jack Viney. Viney visited the Eagles' facilities last week as he explores his options, with Melbourne indicating a shift in their midfield strategy for 2027.
Clarke mentioned that discussions are ongoing, expressing strong interest in Viney, who is under contract until the end of 2028. He noted that while the team is getting closer to a potential agreement, nothing has been finalized yet. Viney played only one game this season due to injuries, but Clarke believes there is a place for him in the Eagles' midfield alongside other players.
In addition to Viney, Clarke addressed the situation regarding Trent Rivers, stating that discussions are separate and Rivers has not formally requested a move. Clarke also provided insights into the Eagles' strategy for their Pick 3 in the upcoming draft, indicating that they are considering multiple players and focusing on the right type rather than just the best available talent.
