West Coast Eagles Extend Contract of Fred Rodriguez

West Coast Eagles have announced a one-year contract extension for rookie Fred Rodriguez, who is in his first season with the club.

The 19-year-old half-back flanker, a native of Western Australia, has shown promise at the WAFL level, although he has yet to make his AFL debut. Rodriguez expressed enthusiasm about continuing with the team, highlighting the supportive environment and coaching staff that he believes will aid his development.

Rodriguez, who averaged 15 disposals this year despite dealing with a pre-season injury, was selected with the first pick in the 2025 Rookie Draft. West Coast's list manager, Matt Clarke, noted Rodriguez's strong work ethic and adaptability, stating that the club is pleased with his progress and looks forward to his continued development.
