West Coast Eagles Release Three Players Ahead of 2027 Season
The West Coast Eagles have announced that players Clay Hall, Harry Schoenberg, and Jack Williams will not be offered contracts for the 2027 season. This decision comes after the trio was asked to wait during the trade period while the club welcomed new players Jack Viney and Trent Rivers from Melbourne.
Jack Williams, who was drafted with Pick 57 in 2021, played 52 games for the Eagles, including a career-high 18 matches in 2024. Clay Hall, selected with Pick 38 in 2023, participated in 16 games over three years and was recognized as a Rising Star nominee last year, also winning the club's Emerging Talent Award. Harry Schoenberg, who joined the Eagles from Adelaide, added five AFL games to his previous 62 with the Crows.
Matt Clarke, the Eagles' list boss, acknowledged the difficulty of making such decisions and expressed gratitude for the contributions of Hall, Schoenberg, and Williams, wishing them success in their future endeavors. They join other recent departures from the club, including Harry Barnett, Tyler Brockman, Jamie Cripps, and Harvey Johnston.
