West Ham Urges Fans to Cease Offensive Chant During Match
West Ham United has requested that its fans refrain from singing an offensive chant regarding Manor Solomon, which was heard during their recent Championship match against Burnley. The club's appeal follows the chant's performance by some away supporters during the game that ended in a 2-2 draw.
Solomon, who recently joined West Ham from Tottenham, was the subject of the chant that carried an anti-Palestine message. In a statement released ahead of their upcoming home match against Charlton, the club emphasized the importance of representing the team positively and ensuring that all fans feel safe and respected.
West Ham acknowledged the tradition of singing at matches but urged supporters to express their enthusiasm without causing division or offense. Solomon, a 27-year-old winger, has previously played for Fulham and Leeds, and has been capped 49 times by Israel.
