White Sox Appoint Matt Roffe as New Scouting Director
The Chicago White Sox are preparing to hire Matt Roffe as their new scouting director, as reported by Katie Woo and Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. The official announcement is anticipated next week.
Roffe joins the White Sox after contributing to the Brewers' success in winning the 2026 World Series. He has five years of experience with the Brewers, most recently serving as the assistant director of domestic scouting since November 2025. His previous role included working as an analyst for the Arizona Diamondbacks, where he collaborated with current White Sox assistant general manager Josh Barfield.
Roffe's appointment comes after the resignation of Mike Shirley, the former director of amateur scouting, who left the position following an investigation into allegations of verbal harassment. During Shirley's tenure, the White Sox utilized several first-round draft picks, including Garrett Crochet and Colson Montgomery.
