Known for his power and speed, Wiemer has struggled with strikeouts, recording a 31% strikeout rate in the majors and 26% in Triple-A. The White Sox recently lost outfield depth with the waiver claim of Everson Pereira by St. Louis, making Wiemer a valuable addition with more big league experience than current options.
