Will Fleury Comments on McGregor's UFC 329 Loss
Will Fleury, the Oktagon champion, did not watch Conor McGregor's fight against Max Holloway at UFC 329 but learned of McGregor's loss the following morning, which he found disappointing.
Fleury, who holds titles in two weight classes, expressed concerns about McGregor's influence on the perception of mixed martial arts in Ireland. He noted that many Irish fans are currently unsupportive of McGregor, which complicates his position as a fellow Irish fighter.
Fleury emphasized that he hoped for strong performances during International Fight Week but felt that the event strayed from the core values of martial arts. He is set to defend his Oktagon light heavyweight title against Makhmud Muradov on August 1.
