Will Ospreay Discusses Body Dysmorphia During NJPW Career
Will Ospreay, the AEW World Champion, recently spoke about his struggles with body dysmorphia during his time in New Japan Pro Wrestling at the age of 24. He faced insecurities related to his physique and received online criticism regarding his appearance in the ring.
Ospreay first recognized his body dysmorphia after winning the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in October 2017. He admitted to feeling lost in the gym, lacking knowledge about workout routines and nutrition, which led to embarrassment about seeking help from others.
To combat these challenges, Ospreay began following MusclePharm's workout routines while wrestling in New Zealand and later engaged a personal trainer who taught him about macro counting and effective workout strategies. Nearly a decade later, he has transformed his physique and recently became the face of the men's division in AEW after winning the championship at All In: London.
