Golfer Will Zalatoris has revealed plans to undergo back surgery, which will prevent him from participating in the 2027 PGA Tour season. This marks his third back operation in four years.
At 30 years old, Zalatoris has faced significant challenges due to injuries, despite previously achieving seven top-10 finishes in major championships from 2020 to 2024. He has only played four times on the PGA Tour this season, missing the cut in two events.
The PGA Tour has informed Zalatoris that he will be placed in the Challenger Series for the 2028 season, which will feature a new schedule with fewer events and a tiered system. He is set to compete in the Austin Championship on November 9, which will be his final event before surgery.
