Williams Drivers Assess 2026 Season Challenges

Williams drivers Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon have shared their insights on the team's struggles during the 2026 Formula 1 season, indicating that despite a recovery plan, achieving their targets in the latter half of the year seems unlikely.

During a recent episode of Williams's Team Torque podcast, both drivers reflected on a challenging first half of the season, noting that the new regulations have posed significant difficulties for the team. Sainz mentioned that while recent weeks have shown improvement, the team is not yet at the desired performance level.

Albon emphasized the importance of learning from this year's challenges to avoid repeating them in the future. He noted that the team is actively working on gathering data and developing new strategies ahead of the upcoming races, with the aim of enhancing their performance.

As the summer break approaches, Williams currently holds ninth place in the constructors' standings, having accumulated 11 points.
