Willson Contreras Exits Game After Being Hit by Fastball

Willson Contreras, a player for the Boston Red Sox, left a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers after being hit in the head by a fastball on Friday at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California.

In the top of the 3rd inning, Contreras faced Dodgers reliever Will Klein, who first threw a pitch that narrowly missed him. However, a subsequent pitch struck Contreras' helmet, resulting in a loud impact that was heard during the live broadcast. Despite the hit, he initially remained in the game and took his position at first base.

Contreras was later substituted by Anthony Seigler before the next half-inning. Red Sox manager Chad Tracy indicated that the decision to remove Contreras was precautionary, noting that initial tests showed no significant issues, although the team is cautious regarding head injuries and the risk of concussion.
