Wolff Backs FIA President's Support for Honda and Alonso
Toto Wolff has voiced his support for Mohammed ben Sulayem's initiative to assist Fernando Alonso and Honda, as Alonso faces the possibility of leaving Formula 1.
The weekend in Madrid began with confusion as the FIA president expressed regret over Alonso's situation and indicated he would take steps to help the driver and the Honda team. Ben Sulayem suggested potential rule adjustments to aid Honda, which could provoke reactions from rival teams.
Wolff commented on the need for Honda to receive additional support, stating that the current regulations should be adjusted to ensure competitiveness among top constructors. Alonso, however, remained non-committal about his future, hinting at a possible move to Aston Martin's World Endurance Championship program.
