Wolverhampton Wanderers Legend Phil Parkes Passes Away at 79

Phil Parkes, a legendary goalkeeper for Wolverhampton Wanderers, has passed away at the age of 79. He was a key player for the club from 1960 to 1978, making 382 appearances.

Parkes made his first-team debut in 1966 and played a significant role in the team's journey to the UEFA Cup final in 1972. After retiring in 1983, he remained involved with the club as a member of the former players association and was inducted into the Wolves Hall of Fame in 2023.

Following a fall at home in 2025, Parkes required medical supervision for the remainder of his life. The club expressed condolences to his family and announced that further tributes would be forthcoming.
