Woman Injured by Suspected Shark Bite at Martha's Vineyard

A woman in her late 20s sustained a leg injury consistent with an animal bite at Norton Point Beach in Edgartown, Massachusetts, on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services arrived at the scene around 1:40 p.m. and confirmed that her injuries were non-life-threatening, with no expectation of losing her leg. Following the incident, South Beach was closed to swimmers for several hours.
