Women's Champions League Draw: Arsenal Faces Tough Opponents
The Women's Champions League has announced its draw for the upcoming league phase, with Arsenal set to face reigning champions Barcelona and eight-time winners Lyon. Chelsea will also travel to Lyon, while Manchester City will take on Bayern Munich, who reached the semi-finals last season.
Arsenal's group includes matches against Lyon, Benfica, and Danish team HB Koge, whom they previously defeated. Chelsea's schedule features Paris St-Germain, Roma, and league phase newcomers Austria Wien. Manchester City, placed in pot three, will compete against PSG, Real Madrid, and Austria Wien at home, and face Bayern Munich, Hacken, and Inter Milan away.
The draw took place in Nyon, Switzerland, with all 18 clubs divided into pots and assigned two opponents each. The first matchdays are scheduled for September 22 and 23, with the knockout phase play-offs set for February 2027. Arsenal's draw is considered particularly challenging, while Chelsea aims to progress smoothly through their matches.
