Women's World Cup 2027: Qualification Path for UK Teams
The 10th FIFA Women's World Cup is scheduled to take place in Brazil from June 24 to July 25, 2027. England, along with Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland, is aiming to secure a place in the tournament through a series of play-off matches.
England will begin their qualification journey with two rounds of home and away ties, starting against Greece in Crete on October 9, followed by a home match at King Power Stadium in Leicester on October 13. If successful, they will face the winner of the Slovakia versus Ukraine match in the next round.
Other UK teams are also in action on the same day, with Wales playing Albania, Scotland facing the Czech Republic, Northern Ireland taking on Portugal, and the Republic of Ireland competing against Kazakhstan. England's head coach Sarina Wiegman expressed confidence in her team's preparation despite the challenges posed by their qualifying group, which included world champions Spain.
