Woo-Suk Go Becomes Free Agent After Waiver Process

Reliever Woo-Suk Go has opted for free agency after going unclaimed on waivers, as reported by the MiLB.com transaction log. His decision follows the Minnesota Twins designating him for assignment to make room for top prospect Walker Jenkins.

Go was acquired by the Twins from Detroit in early July, where he had shown promise with a 2.60 ERA and a 29% strikeout rate in 27 2/3 innings at the Tigers' top affiliate. However, during his brief stint in the MLB, he allowed four runs over four innings across four games.

After being optioned to Triple-A St. Paul, Go faced challenges, including an ejection and an eight-game suspension for using a foreign substance. His performance suffered, highlighted by a stretch where he walked 10 batters in four innings. Despite having a fastball velocity of 94-95 mph and a mix of pitches, Go has struggled with command since joining the league.
