Woodside Drive-In Cinema to Relocate by 2027

Woodside Drive-In Cinema, located next to Woodside Ferry Terminal in Birkenhead, is set to leave its site by March 2027. Co-owners Karen Hall and Kevin Wood expressed their disappointment upon learning they must vacate after nine years of operation.

The cinema, which began as a temporary summer attraction in 2018, has grown in popularity, hosting various events including engagements and weddings. Hall noted that they plan to remain open for their final Halloween and Christmas seasons while searching for a new location.

Merseytravel, the public transport body that owns the site, has not commented on the ongoing process. Hall mentioned that the cinema has become a cherished venue for many customers, with some returning with their children over the years. The owners are hopeful about finding a new home, initially focusing on locations within the Wirral.
