WPL Mini Auction Highlights: Molineux and Navgire Among Top Earners
The WPL mini auction took place at Hyatt's Vembanad Hall, where Sophie Molineux emerged as the highest-priced player, acquired by UP Warriorz for ₹1.10 crore. The auction featured 27 slots, and despite the limited opportunities, Molineux's bidding was swift, reflecting Warriorz's substantial budget of ₹3.75 crore.
In addition to Molineux, UP Warriorz secured several players, including Grace Harris, Sneh Rana, and Sushma Verma, each for ₹30 lakh. Kiran Navgire was signed by Delhi Capitals for ₹75 lakh, while G. Kamalini and Jess Jonassen were picked up for their base prices by Gujarat Giants and RCB, respectively. Mumbai Indians focused on budget acquisitions, signing multiple players for ₹10 lakh.
Uma Kashvi, at just 15 years old, made history as the youngest player to join a WPL squad, being sold to Delhi Capitals for ₹10 lakh. Notably, some players, like Sophia Dunkley, did not attract bids despite their higher base prices.
