WRC drivers are gearing up for Rally Paraguay, anticipating challenging conditions due to heavy rain forecasts that could lead to a rally of survival. The event, set to take place over a distance of 358.88 km, features five new stages and is noted for its slippery red-clay surface.

Last year's inaugural rally surprised many with its difficulty, and this year, the weather is a major concern. While Friday is expected to be dry, heavy rain is predicted for Saturday and Sunday, raising the risk of punctures and making the course even more treacherous.

Drivers like Sami Pajari and Oliver Solberg have commented on the potential severity of the rain, likening it to conditions seen in Kenya. Sébastien Ogier, the reigning world champion, expressed that the rally could be unpredictable, emphasizing the challenging grip conditions on the clay roads. Teams are preparing for the worst, with M-Sport-Ford even equipping their cars with snorkels to handle possible standing water.
