WRC Expands 2027 Calendar to 15 Events with USA and UK Returns
The World Rally Championship (WRC) is set to expand its calendar to 15 rounds in 2027, with the USA and the UK making their return. This marks the first increase in events since 2008, as confirmed by the FIA.
The updated schedule includes a new gravel rally in Knoxville, Tennessee, which will take place from August 26-29, and a gravel event in Scotland from September 30 to October 3. Additionally, the Italian round will shift from Sardinia to Rome, scheduled for July 8-11.
Concerns regarding the Safari Rally Kenya's future have been addressed, with a deal reached to maintain its March date. The event will now be promoted and financed by the private sector, although details of this arrangement remain undisclosed. The season will kick off in Monte Carlo and conclude in Saudi Arabia, featuring a mix of gravel and asphalt rallies throughout the year.
