Wrexham Nears Signing of Goalkeeper Anthony Patterson from Sunderland

Wrexham is on the verge of signing goalkeeper Anthony Patterson from Sunderland. The 26-year-old, who has previously played for England's Under-21 team, is expected to undergo a medical examination with the club shortly.

Patterson, a product of Sunderland's academy, made his senior debut during the 2020-21 season and has since accumulated 169 competitive appearances for the Black Cats. He played a key role in Sunderland's promotion to the Championship and later to the Premier League.

This potential transfer may lead to the departure of Arthur Okonkwo, who is in the final year of his contract with Wrexham. Manager Phil Parkinson has indicated that the squad still requires strengthening as they prepare for a competitive season ahead.
