WWE Offered Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods a 75 Percent Pay Cut

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, former members of the New Day, reportedly received a pay cut offer from WWE that could have reached 75 percent. After declining this offer, they opted for release and have since joined AEW, where they are now known as 'The New Level' and have already secured the Trios Championship alongside Swerve Strickland.

During a recent podcast, Conrad Thompson mentioned that the initial offer to remain with WWE included a pay reduction of over 50 percent, but he has heard speculation that it was actually as high as 75 percent. This figure has not been confirmed by Kingston and Woods, who have expressed their desire to showcase their skills in AEW.

Jim Ross commented on their transition to AEW, suggesting that WWE may have offered the pay cut due to a lack of creative direction for the duo. He believes they will be valuable assets to AEW, capable of thriving in various roles. Kingston has acknowledged that while financial factors played a role in their decision, the primary motivation was the opportunity to work and grow in a new environment.
