The match was arranged after Trick Williams approached SmackDown GM Nick Aldis, seeking a fight. Following a heated exchange with Breakker, who was concerned about his training schedule, RAW GM Adam Pearce booked the match, despite Aldis's objections.

During the match, Breakker and Williams exchanged heavy blows, with the action spilling outside the ring. As the match neared its conclusion, Austin Theory attacked Williams, resulting in a disqualification. After the match, The Vision launched a brutal assault on Williams and Je’Von Evans, who attempted to intervene.
