WWE SmackDown Highlights: Flair vs. Cargill, Owens and Punk Face Off

This week's WWE SmackDown occurred at the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, marking the first episode after WWE SummerSlam.

During the event, Charlotte Flair faced Jade Cargill, both of whom participated in the interim WWE Women’s Championship ladder match at SummerSlam, which Chelsea Green won. Additionally, Kevin Owens and CM Punk were scheduled to have a segment, with Owens returning to WWE during SummerSlam and winning a number one contender match against Gunther, Sami Zayn, and Finn Balor.

Randy Orton, who made his return at SummerSlam, was also advertised for the show, although not officially announced. The event began with a tribute to the late Dory Funk Jr., followed by the arrivals of several wrestlers, including Baron Corbin and Trick Williams, and a commercial-free first thirty minutes.
