WWE SmackDown Search Interest Declines Ahead of Punk vs Owens Match
Google Search interest for WWE SmackDown has dropped by 4% over the past three months and the same percentage compared to last year, ahead of this week's show featuring a match between CM Punk and Kevin Owens.
The highest search interest in the last 90 days occurred on June 20, following an episode where Cody Rhodes defended his WWE Championship against Gunther, with Sami Zayn as the special guest referee. Since then, interest has fluctuated between 60 and 75 out of 100, with a notable spike to 91 on July 18 after the go-home show for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
The recent decline in search interest is surprising, especially given the storyline developments involving Kevin Owens and CM Punk, who typically generate significant attention. Despite a newly released hype package for their upcoming match garnering around 27,000 views on YouTube, the overall search interest remains low, raising questions about fan engagement.
