WWE's Pay Cut Leads to Departure of New Day

WWE and TKO Group Holdings requested significant pay cuts from talent, resulting in the departure of the New Day, now known as New Level, who revealed they were asked to take over a 50% cut.

WWE and its parent company, TKO Group Holdings, have been in the spotlight for requesting pay cuts from their talent, which has led to notable departures, including the New Day, now rebranded as New Level, following their appearance at AEW All In London 2026.

After signing with AEW, Kofi and Austin Creed disclosed in interviews that WWE asked them to accept a pay reduction of slightly over 50 percent. Former WWE talent Ridge Holland, now Luke Menzies, also shared that he was asked to take a 56 percent pay cut prior to his release, aligning with the figures reported for the New Level.

Clarifications from Bryan Alvarez indicated that the New Level's pay cut was just above 50 percent, countering earlier rumors of a higher figure. The New Level debuted alongside Swerve Strickland at AEW All In, where they won the AEW World Trios Championships and later secured a victory in their television debut on AEW Dynamite.
