WWE's Rhea Ripley Expected to Remain Out Until Next Year
WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley is projected to be out of action until next year due to a knee injury that required surgery.
Ripley, who suffered a torn meniscus in June, was unable to be cleared for SummerSlam, leading WWE to announce a ladder match for an Interim Women's Champion. Although WWE initially hoped for her return after SummerSlam without vacating her title, reports indicate she may be sidelined for the rest of the year.
Ripley won the championship at WrestleMania 42 by defeating Jade Cargill. Following her injury during a title rematch at Clash In Italy, she participated in two house shows in Europe but was later withdrawn from events after teaming with Charlotte Flair and Tiffany Stratton in Portugal. WWE has not yet provided updates regarding the status of her title.
