Wyndham Clark Leads BMW Championship by Five Shots
Wyndham Clark increased his lead at the BMW Championship by shooting a 5-under-par 65 on Saturday in St. Louis.
With this performance, Clark, the U.S. Open champion, reached a total of 17-under 193, holding a five-stroke advantage over Patrick Cantlay and Rory McIlroy at Bellerive Country Club. After starting the round with a double bogey, Clark recovered with an eagle on the eighth hole and birdies on four of the first five holes on the back nine, despite finishing with a bogey on the 18th.
McIlroy matched Clark's score of 65, while Cantlay recorded a 66. Gary Woodland and Chris Gotterup are tied for fourth at 11 under, followed by Collin Morikawa and Sungjae Im at 10 under and 9 under, respectively. J.J. Spaun dropped to a tie for eighth after shooting a 72. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler moved to 5 under with a 68, placing him in a share of 15th.
