Wyndham Clark Secures BMW Championship Victory for Third Win of the Year
Wyndham Clark claimed victory at the BMW Championship held in St. Louis, finishing with a score of 17-under 263. This win marks his third title of the year, solidifying his position as a contender for the PGA Tour player of the year.
Clark started the final round with a five-shot lead but faced a challenge from Rory McIlroy, who tied the score after 11 holes. However, Clark regained momentum with a crucial birdie on the par-3 16th hole, while McIlroy missed his opportunity to match. Clark then extended his lead with another birdie on the 17th and finished strong with a third consecutive birdie.
Patrick Cantlay finished as the runner-up, closing with three birdies in a row, while Gary Woodland returned to the Tour Championship for the first time since 2019 after overcoming health challenges. McIlroy, who struggled in the final holes, ended the day in third place. Clark's performance also secured him a spot among the top six qualifiers for the Presidents Cup.
