X Games League Introduces XC Golden State Team for Winter Season
The X Games League is expanding with the introduction of a new team, XC Golden State, for the upcoming winter season, based in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is the tenth-largest media market in the United States.
This announcement marks the sixth franchise sale for the X Games, with XC Golden State and XC Park City set to compete exclusively during the winter. The team was acquired by a group of investors led by Jonathan Turner, a Bay Area entrepreneur, although the purchase price remains undisclosed.
Jeremy Bloom, CEO of X Games, highlighted the significant influence of Northern California on action sports. The athletes representing XC Golden State have not yet been determined, and the league's winter draft is scheduled for September 16, 2026, in Los Angeles.
